As HSPs, our sensitivity is hardwired into our nervous system. It is found in 20 percent of the population and is most likely inherited. While this greater level of sensitivity can vary from person to person, the heightened awareness implicit in the HSP temperament means that more information is coming to us than is coming to the other 80 percent of the population.
"Sensitivity" not only means having a tendency or ability to pick up more subtle details or information than others, it also means that HSPs experience greater intensity.
While we may get used to this level of intensity, we are often unaware of how much it can take out of us and how it can affect our perception of what we're capable of. We often pay a price. Our nervous system needs quiet, reflective time, as well as self-nurturing in order to process the sheer number of stimuli we come across on a daily basis.
In this month's groups, we will explore the importance of examining what this intensity is all about––how we use it, and how it impacts us.
I will offer a safe, supportive and creative in-person environment in which to share, connect, learn and grow. No two HSP Relational Gestalt process groups are the same due to the nature of staying with one's experience from moment to moment.
